Poor old dear, play your fucking darts in the day or go to the pub. Darts do make a noise, sounds like someone kicking a ball against wall in flats.

Take your darts down the Pub where they damn well belong.Problem sorted.

Re: Problem with the neighbour- darts and excessive noise
Some great suggestions btw- had a laugh at a couple of them.

Honest Hammer- your situation sounds a bit similar to be honest. It's mainly my girlfriend who's been talking to her. I wouldn't probably have been quite so polite! Did you try anything to dampen the noise? I put a bit of sponge behind each of the metal bits that touch the wall but it seems to have done fuck all to help, really. Your first suggestion is what I'd really like to do…

Mad Dog- likewise. I assume it was just the once it was mentioned and then nothing more was said?

DagenhamDave- It's exactly that. I did think about that but my girlfriend refuses to have a stand basically permanently up in the living room (fair enough I reckon) and TBH I feel like I shouldn't have to go to the expense of buying one just to placate someone who I think is frankly over-reacting.

Hairy- not really, but I do see some improvements slowly but surely! I really need to find a pub team or something.

Re: Problem with the neighbour- darts and excessive noise
Maybe you should try to hit the dartboard itself

Re: Problem with the neighbour- darts and excessive noise
If you can't play after ten then you'll have to get used to being a 9-darter!

Re: Problem with the neighbour- darts and excessive noise
Buy 100 sets of darts and throw each dart at the board one after the other until you've got 300 darts in the dartboard.

Then, when there's complete silence, shout out "HEAR THAT DID YOU, YOU OLD SLUT?!" followed by playing the entire CD of Jive Bunny's greatest hits at full volume.

Re: Problem with the neighbour- darts and excessive noise
My old neighbours mentioned they could hear me playing darts too. Didn't bother them and give said I wouldn't play it at night out of courtesy.

But then again my neighbours were alright (had n that side) the upstairs ones were utter utter cunts

Re: Problem with the neighbour- darts and excessive noise
Presumably its the thud against the wall that she is complaining about. You could try a stand?

Re: Problem with the neighbour- darts and excessive noise
Get those suction darts that kids have. Makes less noise and you can still play darts. Win win.

Sven - it's exactly like being drunk, without the euphoria and increased risk of kissing inappropriate men.

In the interest of keeping the peace, could you not move the dartboard to a wall that is not shared with her flat?

Ask her to invite the council around to take a reading.
Or bite her ears off

Re: Problem with the neighbour- darts and excessive noise
I have really noisy neighbours. The din was driving me mad until I recently gave in and tried these orange foam rubber ear plugs I found in Sainsbury. Now I get a great night's sleep. They are amazing little things.

Only drawback is they bugger up my ears. Sometimes I get dizzy after I get in the morning and it can last a few hours.

Trying to cross a busy London High Road in morning rush hour traffic, tottering and slaloming like a pisshead, fighting swirling nausea, clutching a breakfast latte, with several buses thundering towards you, is not something I would recommend.
